Balikliova Transfer
Balıklıova's first name in history is Polikhne. The name of the settlement is mentioned in the history of their neighbor Klazomenai's invasion attempt in 413 BC. It is a Greek village that has been called by this name in the Ottoman period as well. Due to the migration of the Greeks due to the population exchange after the republic, the village was emptied and the old settlement of the village was abandoned. Its current name was changed from Polykne to Turkish as Balıklı and Balıklıova.
Balıklıova is 63 km from İzmir city center and 30 km from Urla town centre. It is a neighborhood established in the southernmost part of the Karaburun Peninsula. The neighborhood, which receives cool winds in summer due to Akdağ, on which it leans, is famous for its clean sea and fish restaurants.
Balıklıova is the only convenient place on the Karaburun Peninsula that has a connection to the Çeşme region. The neighborhood, where Akdağ climbing is also done in summer, is reached by leaving the Karaburun junction of the İzmir-Çeşme highway.
