Burhaniye Transfer
Burhaniye is a district of Balıkesir province on the Aegean Sea coast. It is within the geography of the region defined as the North Aegean. It is mainly an olive growing and domestic tourism center for olive oil production. Çanakkale-İzmir Highway (E87) passes through the district center.
The district, which is located in the Aegean Region, is located in the Edremit Bay region, between Kaz Mountain in the north and Madra Mountain in the south. The district center and the north of the district are located in the south of the Edremit Coastal Plain. The rest of the district is on the north of Madra Mountain and on the low hills of the mountain extending towards the sea. Baglar Cape on the coast is the southwest border of the district. The main streams of the district are Havran Stream and Ant Stream.
The fact that the Peneplen areas of the Madra Mountains descending towards the coast in the south and southwest of the district are covered with faults has caused the district center to be located in the 1st degree earthquake center belt. The 2.6 earthquake that took place on 18 April 2011 is an indicator of the seismic activity of the region.
The region has a temperate Mediterranean climate. The winters are warm and rainy and the summers are hot and dry. In the county where the cold north winds are cut by Mount Kaz, the prevailing winds; northeastern, southwestern and Aegean imbat winds.
